My 666 visitor

what a suprise!!!

666 number appear on my "counter list". I'm really suprise when this 666 number appear.

Did you know what 666 mean?
I found this article from wikipedia, even wikipedia got information about 666 - the number of the beast.

what do you guys think about 666? any idea?

Guess who in the Picture??

Lets guess who persons in the pictures , of coz, put their name too!!! if you really know who he/she is, write down their job/specialist too.. Thanks

Any idea how to increase traffic on my blog? Give any idea and i try my best to make it out.
Good idea + creative + hardworking + open minded = nice blog + high traffic.

Downloaders Beware!!!

For those of you who happily torrent stuff, you'd better start being careful.

Seems like our 'friendly' Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry will be cracking down on such activities pretty soon. Considering that pirated software vendors have are almost non-existent in our regular IT centres, it's not really surprising that downloaders were next on the list.

Image

According to the report from The Star, If you download material illegally from the Internet, you can be fined a minimum of RM250,000 while the maximum fine is RM500,000. Actually this penalty was legislated more than 10 years ago under the Copyright Act, but it has yet to be fully enforced.

According to Deputy Minister Datuk S. Veerasingam, cracking down on Internet download offenders was also gaining momentum. If the government is start to get serious about it, we might start hearing the first charges to be filed against downloaders in the next couple of months. It'll be interesting to see what happens then.

“What I know for sure is that if you want to have success, you can’t make success your goal,” says Oprah Winfrey. “The key is not to worry about being successful, but to instead work toward being significant – and the success will naturally follow.”

Oprah’s success has not come easily, but rather as the result of a number of crucial factors:

A Goal-Oriented Focus: “You become what you believe,” says Oprah. “You are where you are today in your life based on everything you have believed.” Oprah’s unwavering belief in her abilities is what drove her to focus all of her life’s energy on reaching her objectives. Focused on a career in broadcasting, Oprah ignored all other diversions until she had achieved her goals. Once a successful talk show host, she continued to diversify in areas within broadcasting. Oprah’s single-minded focus allowed her to concentrate all of her time and energy into achieving the life of her dreams.

The Ability to Overcome Diversity: Having experienced much abuse and adversity as a young child, Oprah developed the survival instinct at an early age. She learned the lesson that if you wanted to not only stay alive but also make something of yourself you had to fight. This would well prepare her for the obstacles she would later face in the worlds of broadcasting and business.

The Ability to Recognize and Seize the Opportunity: “I don’t believe in coincidences,” says Oprah. From hosting a talk show, to acting, to utilizing the Internet to bring her company online, Oprah has listened to her inner voice and grabbed every opportunity she believed was necessary to achieve her goals. She was not afraid to venture into the unknown or reinvent herself through various media. Her success also lies in the opportunities she has turned down, such as thousands of dollars worth of brand endorsements, which might have put her company in jeopardy. Listening to her gut instinct has allowed Oprah to take advantage of numerous opportunities, which otherwise might have gone unnoticed.

A Sense of Responsibility to Others: Early on in her career, Oprah asked, “How can I be of service? How can I use television as a service?” Oprah has since demonstrated that social consciousness can make good business sense. Her dedication to the causes in which she believes and the passion with which she appeals to her audience for support has set her apart from other television personalities. Her desire to give back not only to her own community, but also to communities around the world, has endeared Oprah in the eyes of the public.

The Courage to Follow her Passion: “I was called to talk, to use my voice in some way,” says Oprah. From the very moment that Oprah discovered her natural flair and passion for broadcasting, she directed all her energy toward feeding that passion. It was her passion for what she was doing that drew people in and made her so appealing to audiences worldwide. Oprah’s passion conveys authenticity, which allows people to get an inside glimpse into her true self and garners a sense of trust between her and her audience. Equipped with this love of communicating with people and a staunch belief in her true calling, Oprah was propelled to new heights.

“I don’t think of myself as a businesswoman,” she says, but Oprah’s success proves otherwise. While these factors for success may not be unique to Oprah, their combination and the manner in which they were embraced enabled her to reach to new heights.

Though he never set out to be a millionaire, Gates not only became the world’s first centibillionaire in 1999, but also one of the world’s most respected entrepreneurs for having revolutionized the world of computers and setting new industry standards. “I really had a lot of dreams when I was a kid,” recalls Gates. How did he do manage to turn those dreams into reality?

He Had A Vision: From day one, Gates dreamed of having a personal computer in every home, in every business and in every school. Throughout his career, he never once wavered from this dream. Focusing on software as the means to popularize the PC, Gates built his empire around this central vision and steered clear of all other distractions. And, the vision continues today. “We are not even close to finishing the basic dream of what the PC can be,” he says.

He Had a Solid Team: “If we weren’t still hiring great people and pushing ahead at full speed, it would be easy to fall behind and become a mediocre company,” says Gates. From Microsoft’s inception, Gates prioritized his team, bringing in only trusted friends to help him get the company started. As the company grew, he insisted that they hire only the most capable young minds and strove to create a small and creative environment for them to thrive in. Microsoft succeeded not only because of Gates, but also because of the strong team that stood behind him.

He Took a Long-Term Approach: “In the decade ahead I can predict that we will provide over twice the productivity improvement that we provided in the ‘90s,” said Gates. This bold statement captures Gates’ philosophy behind his entire business. Never one to chase after instant success or an immediate pay-off, Gates began coding software with a view to the next fifty years. He has constantly tried to keep his company at the forefront of new technological developments by funding new research initiatives. Gates’ long-term approach helped ensure Microsoft’s remarkable staying power.

He Learned From Failure: In hindsight, Gates’ early failures seem so miniscule that they are almost laughable. But, as a struggling entrepreneur, he went through the same frustration, confusion and despair that others in his situation also face. What distinguishes Gates from the rest was his ability to rebound from his mistakes and take whatever lessons he could from them. He then became even more resolute and determined to see his vision realized.

He Never Stopped Asking Questions: “I believe that through our natural inventiveness, creativity and willingness to solve tough problems, we’re going to make some amazing achievements,” said Gates speaking to the future possibilities for medicine, education and technology. When Gates faced a dilemma, he didn’t stop and give up. He asked questions about what could be done to solve the problem. From his business activities to his philanthropic efforts, Gates’ curiosity and desire to constantly be learning has been one of the key factors behind his success.

“If I'd had some set idea of a finish line, don't you think I would have crossed it years ago?” asks Gates. Showing no signs of slowing down, Gates continues to fuel his business, inspire his workers and make his contribution to the global village.

“What separates the winners from the losers is how a person reacts to each new twist of fate,” says Trump. He has reacted to the twists and turns in his life with optimism, becoming CEO of the largest privately held company in New York, with over 22,000 employees and estimated revenues in excess of $10 billion. What did he use to get ahead?

Ferocity: “What I admire most are people who put themselves directly on the line,” says Trump. Never one to back away from a challenge, Trump was aggressive and unforgiving in making his business deals. Even if it were costly and difficult and risky, Trump would continue to fight to get the best terms he could. And, he would settle for nothing less.

Passion: “I don’t make deals for the money,” says Trump. “I’ve got enough, much more than I’ll ever need. I do it to do it.” Trump’s love affair with real estate began at an early age and never diminished. Having passion for his work is the only thing that kept Trump going despite the personal failure of divorce, bankruptcy and failed deals. To those wondering how to balance both work and pleasure, Trump says to stop wondering. Instead, he advises to “make your work more pleasurable.”

Idealism: “I wasn't satisfied just to earn a good living,” says Trump. “I was looking to make a statement.” The Trump Organization has become synonymous with luxury, lavishness, class and extravagance. It didn’t get that way by following its competitors. It got that way because Trump was not afraid to think big, to do what hadn’t been done before and in a way that many couldn’t even imagine. His ability to blur the line between fantasy and reality helped push Trump’s company into a league above the rest.

Perception: “Watch, listen, and learn,” advises Trump. Indeed, Trump’s success came about largely as a result of his own ability to observe others and thereby learn how to manipulate their actions. By convincing others they could not do without him, Trump truly refined the deal-making process into an art. It was by mastering this art that Trump was able to rise to the top of his game.

Instinct: “It pays to trust your instincts,” says Trump and in his case, it paid off remarkably well. When sellers, banks, consultants and even friends were telling him one thing, Trump knew he had to go with his gut. By having confidence in himself and the courage to follow through, Trump was able to make difficult and risky decisions when others might have simply given way to the pressure.

Trump’s instincts are now worth over $2 billion but he has no plans of retiring, saying, “Anyone who thinks my story is anywhere near over is sadly mistaken.” The Trump Organization is still expanding, with a revenue growth of 22% between 2004-05 and Trump continues to demonstrate his ability to draw a good hand, pulling out the Trump card every time.

MITIGATING SPAM IN TM NETWORK

Dear valued customers,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad wishes to inform its customers about TM's initiative in combating spam in its Internet Protocol (IP) network to improve our quality of service.

Recently, many anti-spam organizations have blacklisted a large number of IP addresses from TM’s network. Due to this many customers have been unable to send emails from their mail server to companies who might be using database from the abovementioned anti-spam organizations.

These spamming activities by a small group have affected a large number of our customers, regardless of the nature of their Internet usage. .

Therefore, TM is taking immediate action to address this issue. Effective 3 December 2007, TM will block OUTBOUND Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) traffic or port 25 for all out going e-mails from dynamic IP addresses. Only Outbound SMTP traffic from smtp.streamyx.com and smtp.tm.net.my will be allowed.

With this implementation, Streamyx customers who have their own mail server will not be able to send e-mails. As an alternative, TM is providing an open relay server for these customers who use dynamic IP addresses. Kindly refer to http://webmail.tm.net.my/info/proxy.html on how to configure your email client in order toutilize this relay server. Alternatively, your e-mail administrators can refer to http://webmail.tm.net.my/info/smtp-proxy.html as a guide to configure your company’s email servers.

Please be assured that TM is proactively taking all possible measures to ensure that these spamming activities do not reoccur in the future. We seek your kind co-operation to implement the necessary security measures to protect your computers that are connected to the Internet from any e-mail abuse, virus infection, spyware and malicious code.

For further enquiries and assistance, email us at help@tm.com.my or call TM at 100 and select ‘Internet Services’.

Why are downloads via wireless networks so much slower than via wired networks?

Compared to wired networks, a lot more variables affect the speed that you can achieve on wireless networks.

Generally, on wireless networks the closer your computers are located to each other and the wireless router, the greater your transfer rate. So transferring files between computers in different rooms is usually slower than transferring files between computers in the same room. This is because 802.11g (Wireless-G) signals have some trouble travelling through solid objects like walls, furniture and the like. Also, Wireless-G operates on the 2.4GHz spectrum, so you may get interference from Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, amateur radio and, even, microwaves because they all operate on that spectrum.

So, I'd recommend the following:

  • Move your computers closer to the wireless router or move your wireless router to a more central location.
  • Turn the signal strength of your wireless router up.
  • Ensure that there are only 802.11g devices on your wireless network. Backwards compatability with 802.11b or 802.11a devices will slow the network down significantly.
  • Ensure that nothing else on your wireless network is doing a large data transfer. All devices on a wireless network share the available bandwidth, so if someone else is doing a large transfer, the bandwidth available to you is a lot less.
  • Try using a different channel (there'll be a setting in your router's configuration page) because you may be getting interference or pollution from other nearby wireless networks. This is especially true if you live in the inner-city or in an apartment block.
